Week 2 Ramblings and Wins.......

Well I don’t have anything specific to blurt out to the world, but I have a few little things that have taken place this week to make it at least interesting.  I suppose this post will be a compilation of short ramblings.

Weigh in saw me lose 1.2kgs this week, which is a good number and something I was happy with. It gives me a total of 4.1 for the 9 days and has me on the way to where I want to be.  I was disappointed for a split second as I wanted to have an extra 200 grams so that I had officially lost 35 kilos and also be in the 110 kilo bracket.  As Julie said to me, don’t worry it will be one extra week.  She is 100% correct, it will happen this week and if it is a little later than I had hoped so what.  To be brutally honest, if I had worked harder last round I would be well and truly under that anyway by now.
Julie was sick this week, which meant I had a couple of days at home (trying to work from home) and running around with school and kinder drop offs.  After some visits to the doctors and some tests it seems she has Ross River Fever.  This seriously dented her ability to train and also mine for a couple of days.  Not complaining as I plan to make up for the missed calorie burns and will be working my backside off to still get the scales to show a decent number.  I know it is not all about the scales but I would love to see the 110 or less come up this Wednesday.

Had a huge moment this morning when I actually wore a pair of shorts that I had bought in 2010 with the plan of losing weight and wearing them that summer.  This did not happen obviously. When I bought them I could only get a size 38 and when I started this program I was in size 46 jeans.   Today I put them on and they felt good enough for me to wear them out.  I couldn’t help myself and had to post it in the 12WBT forums to blow my own trumpet.  What a great feeling.  I have finally proven to myself that if you want something bad enough you can get there.  These shorts were part of my inspiration board in my first round, now I have done it.

Another good moment this week was doing something different for training.  With Julie being sick on Wednesday I could not do what I wanted to do for normal training, but I took my oldest out for a hit of tennis. Now neither of us are any good, I wouldn’t even say we were at the level of being ordinary but we ran around for 45 minutes and I managed to burn 350 calories in the heat and had a great time whilst I was at it.  I plan on doing this with him a bit more in the future and maybe we will mix it up and try some other things as well.
This week found me looking at some old pictures and quotes that I have accumulated over the last 26 weeks which I have used in my blog and on previous inspiration boards whilst preparing this weeks weekly surprise.  It is amazing to look back at things and see what you have used as inspiration, how far you have come and what you may have achieved in such a short period of time.

This rounds inspiration board has a mix of things from those which I have achieved and still inspire me, to things I want to in the future and things I will do in the future.  One of the best and most impressive achievements is climbing to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge with my wife during finale weekend.  After her car accident 7 years ago, we never thought this would be possible due to the strain on her ankle.  Well we have now done it and I was so proud of her for doing it also.

If you want to have a look at my inspiration board, feel free on the below link.

I am so much looking forward to the scales this week.  I am sure they will not throw up a huge number as the training and diet have not been as good as they could be, but I will be working my rear end off the next few days to try and drop what I need to make my milestone.
